High-efficiency microwave absorption performance of cobalt ferrite microspheres/multi-walled carbon nanotube composites

In this article, spinel ferrite CoFe2O4 and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) composites are constructed by a facile one-step solvothermal method. The pure phase of particles is confirmed X-ray diffraction patterns. Microstructure analysis demonstrates that monodisperse microspheres wound MWCNTs. With the introduction CNTs, there significant enhancement in imaginary part permittivity (ε″) with composites. champion microwave absorption performance can be achieved balance complex permeability. When mass fraction CNTs 3%, minimum reflection loss (RLmin) as high − 46.65 dB at 14.4 GHz thin thickness 1.5 mm, corresponding effective bandwidth below 10 reaches 4.91 ranging from 12.41 to 17.32 which covers almost whole Ku band (12.0–18.0 GHz). other words, these as-synthesized show most outstanding specific RLmin 31.1 mm−1. Such superior behaviors CoFe2O4/CNTs originate mainly multiple dielectric relaxation processes, enhanced impedance matching magnetic loss, well considerable interface between mesoporous hollow thereby promoting scattering within samples. Our results indicate as-fabricated promising absorbent integrating thickness, strong ability, broad absorption.
